The Foundation for Coloring Away Pain is a non-profit organization committed to helping children cope with traumatic and life changing events through coloring and drawing. This year we are kicking off our 1st annual "Quarters for Crayons" campaign.
See Which Schools Are Participating
"Quarters for Crayons" is designed so that children can help children. This campaign is designed to run in schools and organized youth activities. Children are asked to donate their loose change in order to provide coloring books and boxes of crayons to other children in need. We have been fortunate enough to receive gift cards and gift certificates from several local companies to offer as incentives. The class or the team, as well as the teacher or coach, that donates the most will receive a special thank you.
Our goal is to raise between $10,000- $15,000 to provide the children of Nicaragua with Spanish-language coloring books (topics include hurricanes and loss of loved one) and boxes of crayons. Recently, Nicaragua was devastated by Hurricane Felix and 10,000 elementary school age children were left homeless. Many, if not all of these children, have never had the luxury of owning something as simple as a coloring book.
We are also currently raising money for books to be donated to the children affected by the devestating fires in California. We will be distrubuting these books through the Salvation Army.
In an attempt to meet our goal, we are seeking corporate donation or donations to match what is raised by the schools participating in "Quarters for Crayons". If your company would like to participate in "Quarters for Crayons" please contact contact us.
